Payments Gateway API

A crypto payment gateway that enables businesses to receive cryptocurrency payments and charge recurring subscriptions. The API is fully backwards compatible with Coinbase Commerce, allowing seamless migration by simply replacing endpoint URLs, API keys, and webhook secrets.

Core Functionality

Payment Links: Create no-code payment links through the checkout.llamapay.io interface for quick integration without development work. Merchants can generate payment links and embed them on websites or share directly with customers.

API Integration: Complete REST API for programmatic payment creation with webhook support for real-time payment notifications. The API follows Coinbase Commerce conventions, enabling drop-in replacement for existing integrations.

Subscription Management: Support for recurring subscription payments with 1% fee on total amounts paid (only charged when payments occur, not on deposits). Subscriptions can leverage Aave yield to reduce costs for end users.

Multi-Currency Support: Accept payments in stablecoins with 0% fees, or enable token swaps for other cryptocurrencies with 0.5% fee where swapping is needed. Support for USD-denominated pricing with automatic conversion.

Technical Features

Webhook System: Real-time event notifications for payment status changes (charge:pending, charge:confirmed, etc.) with HMAC SHA256 signature verification for security. Webhooks use the same format as Coinbase Commerce for compatibility.

Developer Tools: API key management, webhook secret configuration, and comprehensive documentation through the Developer tab in the LlamaPay UI. Test mode available for integration development.

Hosted Checkout: Each payment request generates a hosted_url for a turnkey checkout experience without building custom payment interfaces. Customers can pay through the LlamaPay-hosted payment page.

Metadata Support: Attach custom metadata to charges for tracking customer information, order IDs, or other business-specific data that gets returned in webhook notifications.

Pricing Model

• Subscriptions: 1% fee on total amount paid by users (fee only charged when payment is made, not on deposits)
• Direct Stablecoin Payments: 0% fees
• Token Swap Payments: 0.5% fee when swapping from other tokens is required
