Mento is a decentralized stablecoin protocol issuing 15+ fiat-pegged stablecoins across major and emerging-market currencies, including USDm (US Dollar), EURm (Euro), GBPm (British Pound), KESm (Kenyan Shilling), NGNm (Nigerian Naira), BRLm (Brazilian Real), PHPm (Philippine Peso), COPm (Colombian Peso), XOFm (West African CFA Franc), JPYm (Japanese Yen), CHFm (Swiss Franc), ZARm (South African Rand), AUDm (Australian Dollar), CADm (Canadian Dollar), and GHSm (Ghanaian Cedi).

All Mento stablecoins are backed by an overcollateralized on-chain reserve with a 3:1 collateralization ratio, composed of a diversified basket of crypto assets (sUSDS, EURC, CELO, stETH, USDC, USDT, ETH). Stablecoins are minted and burned on demand via the Mento Protocol's Fixed-Price Market Maker (FPMM) mechanism, which quotes oracle rates rather than deriving prices from pool reserves — eliminating traditional AMM slippage.

Onchain FX Exchange

The Mento Asset Exchange enables users and protocols to swap Mento stablecoins and other digital assets at real-world FX rates — functioning as a decentralized onchain FX venue. Trades execute at oracle-anchored rates (e.g., swapping USDm for GBPm at the live USD/GBP rate) with onchain circuit breakers for peg protection and dynamic trading limits for risk management. The protocol has processed $18.5B in trading volume across 277M transactions, serving 12M+ users in 140+ countries.

Integration Infrastructure

DeFi protocols, wallets, payment systems, and exchanges can integrate Mento stablecoins and oracle price feeds through multiple paths: ERC-20 token contract integration, oracle price feed access, and direct smart contract integration using deployment addresses and ABIs. A JavaScript/TypeScript SDK provides programmatic access to swap, liquidity management, pool discovery, routing, and borrowing functions without requiring direct smart contract interaction.
