Global Payroll API

Meru's Global Payroll API allows businesses and platforms to programmatically send payments to employees and contractors anywhere in the world, in any currency. This is a core use case of the developer platform and is targeted at companies with distributed, remote teams across Latin America and globally.

API Capabilities

• Multi-currency payouts: Pay team members in their local currency or in stablecoins (USDC/USDT).
• Bulk payment support: Manage payroll at scale via the Payouts API endpoint, supporting batch disbursements across multiple countries simultaneously.
• Instant settlement: Payments processed rapidly using Meru's stablecoin rails and local payment network integrations (PIX, SPEI, ACH, SEPA, and more).
• Compliance handled: KYC/B verification of payees is managed through the same API, ensuring regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.

Integration

Payroll functionality is accessed via the @meru/core SDK (Node.js/TypeScript), using the same API client as other Meru services. HR tech platforms, staffing agencies, DAOs, and Web3 projects can integrate global payroll directly into their workflows.

Business Account Payroll

For businesses not building on the API, Meru's Business Banking Accounts also include a Global Payroll feature enabling companies to pay remote teams worldwide in their local currency directly from their Meru business account.
