Tellor Decentralized Oracle Protocol

Tellor is a Layer 1 blockchain purpose-built for coming to consensus on any subjective off-chain data. Unlike traditional oracle middleware that relays data from centralized APIs, Tellor produces data directly through a permissionless network of staked reporters and validators secured by crypto-economic incentives.

How It Works

Users submit data queries (e.g. price feeds, weather data, or custom requests) accompanied by a TRB tip to incentivize reporters. Staked reporters submit data values which are aggregated on-chain using the median or average. Validators secure the chain and sign aggregated data values before they are bridged to other networks via a light client bridge. A dispute mechanism allows TRB token holders to challenge and slash dishonest reporters.

Pairs include ETH/USD, BTC/USD, TRB/USD, wstETH/USD, USDC/USD, USDT/USD, rETH/USD, and more. Each feed has configured deviation thresholds and heartbeat intervals ensuring data freshness.

Developer Tools

The Query ID Station allows developers to generate and decode query IDs for SpotPrice pairs or custom data types, with a full data specs reference. The Tellor Hub provides a unified interface for bridging TRB tokens, delegating to validators, running reporter nodes, and participating in on-chain disputes.
