Parfin is the leading Web3 infrastructure provider in Latin America, founded in 2019 and headquartered in London with a major operational hub in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The company builds the services and infrastructure needed to unlock the digital assets revolution for regulated financial institutions, combining blockchain technology with traditional financial markets expertise.
Parfin's flagship product is Rayls, a permissioned and public blockchain platform designed specifically for financial institutions — described as "The blockchain for banks." Rayls comprises four main components: the Rayls Public Chain (an EVM-compatible Layer-1 public blockchain for regulated tokenization and institutional DeFi), Rayls Private Network (permissioned multi-institution blockchain networks enabling confidential cross-institution settlement), Rayls Privacy Node (a high-performance EVM-compatible blockchain for individual institutions to manage client accounts and token issuance with privacy), and Enygma (a privacy framework combining zero-knowledge proofs with homomorphic encryption for confidential yet auditable institutional transactions).
Beyond Rayls, Parfin offers a broader institutional platform encompassing Custody as a Service (CaaS) — institutional-grade digital asset custody with embedded compliance — Crypto as a Service (CaaS) for crypto-native businesses, compliance tooling (including AML/KYC automation), treasury management, reporting, governance tools, business process outsourcing (BPO) for digital asset operations, and professional services for institutions building Web3 capabilities.
Parfin's platform is distinguished by its native compliance architecture — regulatory logic is embedded at the transaction layer, ensuring confidentiality while maintaining full auditability. The Rayls infrastructure demonstrated quantum-safe privacy preservation via Enygma, supporting both private permissioned networks and a public EVM chain. The platform supports 10,000+ transactions per second per Privacy Node, enabling real-time 24/7 settlement. Rayls is open source, deployable on-prem or as SaaS, and interoperable with external networks including Ethereum and Polygon.
Parfin's most prominent project is the Drex CBDC pilot with the Central Bank of Brazil (Banco Central do Brasil), where Rayls technology powered Phase 1 (concluded September 2024) involving 16 major banks including Banco do Brasil, Bradesco, Itaú Unibanco, Nubank, and Santander. Parfin also partnered with Núclea (a Brazilian financial market infrastructure operator) which tokenizes and settles over 10,000 receivables weekly using Rayls. The platform has been used in G20 and Bank of International Settlements experiments, and in J.P. Morgan's Kinexys private fund tokenization pilot.
In September 2024, Parfin closed a $10 million Series A funding round backed by Framework Ventures, ParaFi Capital, Valor Equity Partners, Accenture, and Tether, to accelerate Web3 infrastructure expansion across Latin America.
Parfin occupies a unique position as a full-stack Web3 infrastructure provider purpose-built for regulated financial institutions in Latin America — the region's largest CBDC and tokenization market. By combining permissioned blockchain infrastructure (Rayls), institutional custody, compliance tooling, and professional services in a single platform, Parfin enables banks, central banks, crypto exchanges, and financial market infrastructure operators to go from concept to production-ready digital asset operations rapidly. The company's demonstrated track record with Brazil's central bank and major financial institutions validates the institutional-grade reliability and compliance capabilities of the platform.
